Description

Under the Sea With Addie is based, in part, on the behavior of the real life species of octopuses known as Amphioctopus marginatus, invertebrates who use coconut shells as tools to build their homes beneath the water. In the story, Addie notices the sea floor littered with shells and gathers them to build a home. Addie”s mother encourages her to tell her story to the humans who inquire above so that they may become more sensitive to taking care of the environment in which all creatures live.
